	Windward Reporting Engine Windward is composed of two distinct parts, the report designer and the reporting engine. The engine is similiar in functionality and capabilites to Crystal Reports, SSRS, etc., plus some significant additional functionality. It generally runs on one or more servers as part of your server based application and can easily produce hundreds of thousands of reports/day on a single server. Note: The server is a pure Java (also available as pure .NET) product and does not use Microsoft Office.
	AutoTag Template Designer With Windward you design your reports in Microsoft Office. No training, no learning curve, and a UI that is superbly designed. Because it's Office, non-programmers can design their own reports, again with no training. And our Office AddIn AutoTag makes data layout and source mapping trivial. Creating & revising reports is 10 - 20 times faster compared to other reporting systems.
	Document Generation For document generation (and mail merge) Windward is a natural fit. You design your document in Word and pull in additional text & documents with a single tag. You can also repeat parts of the document, conditional include parts of the document, etc. With Windward your template is a free form document, which is how document generation should be.
	Excel Reports When you design a report in Excel, it expands all references in the output so that a SUM(C3:C3) where row 3 is repeated 20 times in the output for 20 rows of data becomes SUM(C3:C22). For Excel output all of your formulas are still live. For other output the macros are evaluated and the result displayed. It also uses the full Excel cell formatting so you can have a different format for positive & negative numbers, etc.
	PowerPoint Reports If you are creating PowerPoint reports, the natural tool you want to use to design the reports is PowerPoint.
